Palm Pals: Why These Little Plush Friends Are So Popular
Soft, cute and full of personality, Palm Pals make it very easy to say, “Just one more!” These little plush friends offer plenty of character without a big price tag. Whether you’re choosing a small gift or adding to your own collection, there’s a pal to suit all sorts of tastes.
But which Palm Pals are selling best at Bunyip Toys? Below are the top five favourites. Aura Rainbow Chick and Wiggles Koala shared the lead, followed by Aster Dragon, Xavier Purple Axolotl and Dani California Roll, who were also tied. This is a snapshot of our store’s sales, not a worldwide popularity ranking.
Aura Rainbow Chick: a cheerful little favourite
Palm Pals Aura Rainbow Chick was one of our joint top sellers during this period. Her character story is all about bringing happiness, sharing giggles and hosting cheerful sing-alongs.
That upbeat personality makes Aura an appealing choice for a little pick-me-up gift. If you like plush friends with a joyful character story, she’s a lovely place to start.
Wiggles Koala: a pal with a playful personality
Sharing the top spot was Palm Pals Wiggles Koala. Wiggles is the comedian of the group, with a character story built around silly jokes, funny hats and making his friends laugh.
A koala is a fitting choice for an Australian collection, and Wiggles adds a playful twist. He’s a fun option for someone who loves animals or enjoys being the family joker.
Aster Dragon: a little fantasy adventure
Palm Pals Aster Dragon was another recent bestseller. Her fiery personality is paired with a protective streak: Aster wants the best for the people she loves.
For dragon fans, that combination offers more than a cute collectible. It gives Aster a story to become part of imaginative adventures, or simply a place among your favourite fantasy characters.
Xavier Purple Axolotl: one for the book lovers
Palm Pals Xavier Purple Axolotl brings a quieter kind of charm. His personality is “bookworm”, and his character story centres on epic fantasy novels, storytelling and cosy reading time.
Xavier is an especially thoughtful pick for a reader. Pair him with a book for a gift that feels personal, or give him a spot beside your current reading pile.
Dani California Roll: a fun foodie favourite
Rounding out these five leading designs is Palm Pals Dani California Roll. Part of the Cravings collection, Dani shows that a Palm Pal doesn’t have to be an animal to win people over.
A California roll turned into a small plush friend is wonderfully unexpected. Dani is a playful choice for a sushi fan or someone who prefers their collectibles a little quirky.
Why are Palm Pals so popular?
Sales tell us which designs people choose, but not exactly why each customer buys them. Still, there are some very clear reasons to love this range.
A soft, fluffy feel
The product descriptions for these five pals highlight materials chosen for a soft, fluffy touch. Their small size makes them appealing little companions to hold, while the bean filling helps give them stability. There’s something lovely about a plush friend that fits into your palm.
Cute characters with their own stories
Palm Pals are more than a collection of names. From Wiggles’ silly streak to Xavier’s love of books, their personalities help you find a character that feels like you, or someone you’re shopping for. That makes choosing one part of the fun.
An affordable little treat
At the time of writing, each of the five Palm Pals featured here is priced at $15 AUD at Bunyip Toys. That puts each one within a $20 gift budget, before delivery, and makes them an approachable way to start a collection.
If you’re weighing up a small Palm Pal against a more expensive plush from another brand, the lower outlay can be part of the appeal. It isn’t a like-for-like comparison, though: size, materials, design and licensing all matter. For these little pals, the attraction is getting a soft, characterful plush at a modest price.
Variety without taking up much room
A chick, a koala, a dragon, an axolotl and a California roll: even this short list shows how varied a collection can be. You could choose a favourite animal, collect fantasy characters or build a foodie-themed group. Their palm-sized format makes it easy to enjoy a few different personalities without needing space for several large plush toys.
Which Palm Pal will you choose?
Our recent bestsellers are a great starting point, but the best pal for you is the one that makes you smile. Choose Aura for a cheerful character, Wiggles for a playful personality, Aster for fantasy fun, Xavier for a book-loving companion or Dani for something deliciously different.
